Proposed Madison Asphalt Plant

Is being planned and permitted by the Reed family to be built in Marshall, NC. The Reeds are long-standing members of the local community. We are working to permit and build a counter flow drum asphalt plant using the latest technology in paving equipment. Our work can be seen throughout the Upstate, from small driveways to large commercial projects and subdivisions. French Broad paving is managed by family team TJ, Regina and Donnie Reed, who have 46 years of paving experience between them. French Broad Paving is a a member of AGC and the BBB.

Asphalt: the Green Paving Solution

According to a study published in 2005, asphalt pavements require about 20 percent less energy to produce and construct than other pavements. Asphalt pavements can be repaired and reopened to traffic immediately. This helps minimize the congestion that leads to unnecessary consumption of fuel and production of emissions.

The asphalt industry reclaims about 100 million tons of its own product every year, and reuses or recycles about 95 million tons. This makes it America’s number one recycler. Other materials are routinely recycled into asphalt pavements. Some of the most common are rubber from used tires, glass, and asphalt roofing shingles.

Energy conservation and recycling

From the production of the paving material, to the placement of the pavement on the road, through recycling, asphalt surfaces minimize impact on the environment. The low consumption of energy for production and construction, low emission of greenhouse gases, and conservation of natural resources help to make asphalt the environmental pavement of choice.
