Managed by the Reed family, Donnie, Regina, and T.J., our paving company has grown to include a Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) plant. French Broad Paving purchased our specific asphalt plant, the ADM EX 7636 counterflow drum plant, because it offered the best technology and was the most efficient for our local area.
Since 2001, our Madison Asphalt plant has produced materials for French Broad and external clients, enhancing our service quality and opening new avenues for growth and collaboration.
Our projects range from federal and state contracts to private residential and commercial parking lot jobs, and having our own HMA plant is vital to our success. “Owning our plant allows us to manage the mix of quality, type, and schedule. We can produce virgin mix or incorporate RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) for cost savings, adapting to any project requirement,” says our company president, T.J. Reed. Having our own plant also means we can schedule our production to meet tight deadlines.
With our plant, we’ve expanded our capabilities, including building a lab that helped us win state projects. As NCDOT Certified Roadway Technicians, this is a vital part of our operations, and we’re proud to provide North Carolina drivers with the best possible blacktop roads.
